Help be Gateshead FC's Extra Heed

posted 16 Sep 2011, 06:21 by Michael Avery
Gateshead Football Club sit proudly joint top of the Blue Square Bet Premier, the leading non-league competition in the country and just one step below the Football League, following a whirlwind start to the season.

This Saturday former Championship club Cambridge United are the attractive visitors to the International Stadium for what promises to be another highly entertaining affair with a place as outright leaders at stake.

Gateshead have made a blistering start to the current campaign, winning six and drawing one of their opening eight fixtures, and are renowned for their free-flowing and attacking football.

The club are determined to regain the coveted Football League place harshly taken from them half a century ago and want as many local football fans as possible to get beyond the Heed revolution.

With attendances on the up for the past five years, the club is working closely with Gateshead Football Club Supporters Association to encourage as many fans as possible to come along to the game on Saturday and get behind Ian Bogie and his high flying team.

You can make a major contribution by letting as many people as possible know about this weekend's game.
